Nazareth edges Rensselaer, 5-4
HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- Nazareth got two points in doubles matches Friday and went on to edge Rensselaer, 5-4, in the Golden Flyers' final spring break mnen's tennis match.
Sophomores Bret Beaver and Ryan McCormick combined for an 8-6 win at first doubles and sophomore Jeremy Mancus and senior Adam Landry followed with an 8-6 win at second doubles.
Singles points went to Mancus, Landry and freshman Erik Manske, who won 6-0, 6-2 at fifth singles. Mancus completed the spring trip with a 5-0 record at third singles.
In women's tennis, Nazareth lost to Rensselaer 6-3. Senior Kelly Noble and sophomore Alex Vizgaitis won singles matches and Noble teamed with sophomore Christine Cary for an 8-1 win asat second doubles for Nazareth's other points. Nazareth is 8-8 overall.
