St. John Fisher Baseball Extends Winning Streak To Five
The St. John Fisher College baseball team pushed its winning streak to five games, as the Cardinals won both games of Saturday’s doubleheader at Muhlenberg College.
With the two wins, Fisher improves to 8-4 on the year.
In the first game, Fisher used three hits to score four runs in the first inning and tacked on runs in every inning but the second to pick up the 16-2 win.
Leo Fusilli and Ben Bostick both went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored, while Ross Langevin and David Locke both went 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Matt Klock and Sean Osterman both finished 1-for-3 with two runs scored.
Steve Karnyski hit his second home run in as many days and finished 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.
Zach Weaver earned the win, pitching 2.1 innings in relief and didn’t allow a run. Ryan Trauger struck out the side in the seventh.
In the nightcap, the Mules scored two runs in the first to take a 2-0 lead, but Fisher scored the game’s next 13 runs and earned the 16-3 victory.
Josh Cox worked six innings and allowed just four hits, while striking out five to collect the win.
Fusilli and Bostick both homered in the win. Fusilli went 2-for-4 with four runs and three RBI, while Bostick drove in two and scored two.
Freshman Brad Rush finished with a career-high five RBI. Ben Ward tripled and collected two RBI, while Chris Roeder finished 2-for-3 with two RBI.
