Yaphank, N.Y. -- The baseball team (2-0) remained undefeated, hammering Old Westbury 11-2. The Bombers have collected 30 hits in their first two outings.

Third baseman David Ahonen (Victor/Farmington), a graduate student, scored three runs and jump-started Ithaca's offense with a three-run first-inning home run. The home run was the 11th of his career and he's three RBI away from becoming the 20th Bomber to reach 100.

Junior left fielder Trevor Barresi (Lansing/Lansing) had a double and two singles and junior second baseman Matt Keller (Pelham/Pelham) added two hits and two runs batted in. Barresi and Keller both have five hits through Ithaca's first two games.

Senior catcher Sean Weber (Columbia/East Schodack) and sophomore center fielder Andrew Turner (Randolph/Randolph, N.J.) both had two-run hits during Ithaca's four-run third. Senior right fielder Matt Streich (East Greenwich/East Greenwich, R.I.) scored two runs.

Senior Aaron Sapp (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) earned the win in his first start of 2011, allowing just one earned run while fanning five batters in six innings. Senior Dan Lynch (Williamsville East/East Amherst) and junior Tucker Healy (Needham/Needham, Mass.) combined to throw three scoreless innings of two-hit relief. Ithaca's bullpen has contributed six shutout innings, allowing three hits with seven strikeouts and one walk over the season's first two games.
