St. John Fisher Men's Lacrosse Downs Previously Undefeated Adrian

The nationally ranked St. John Fisher College men’s lacrosse team overcame an early 3-1 deficit and rallied to earn a 15-6 over previously-undefeated Adrian College in Warrenton, Va. on Thursday afternoon.

With the win, Fisher improves to 2-0 overall, while Adrian drops to 2-1.

The Bulldogs led 3-1 with just over five minutes left in the first quarter, but the Cardinals went on a 7-0 run to close out the first half and led 8-3 at the break.

Fisher pushed its lead to 12-4 going into the final quarter and cruised to the win.

Freshman Jeff Wester totaled his first points at the collegiate level and led the Cardinals with five points on three goals and two assists.

Mitch Ritchie finished with four points on two goals and two assists, while junior All-American Kyle Denhoff scored three goals.

Connor Henderson and Ryan Schmidt each finished with two goals and one assist.

Mike Byrnes, Ryan Leonard and Tyler Kleehammer each scored a goal.

Senior goalie Matt McShea made 13 saves in over 56 minutes of action.
