Ciraulo Posts NCAA Provisional Mark to Pace Pioneers at Cornell

Ithaca, N.Y. (4/9/11) – Freshman hurdler Jess Ciraulo recorded a time of 14.79 in the 100 meter hurdles and provisionally qualified for the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Championships at the Cornell Invitational Saturday. She earned a third place finish in the 100 meter hurdles for her efforts. Freshman Morgan Payne won the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:54.55. Freshman Breiten Balschmiter took home second place in the men’s shot put with a throw of 14.26 meters, he added a third place finish in the men’s discuss with a distance of 42.88 meters, and wrapped up his day with a fourth place finish in the men’s hammer throw with a toss of 41.77 meters.
Junior Sylvester Owusu, freshman Leroy Rouse, sophomore Brandon Rudolphe and freshman Jason Devens teamed up for a fourth place finish in the 4x100 meter relay after posting a time of 43.47. Owusu added an eighth place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.20. Freshman Harrison Quamily placed 15th out of 47 in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:57.15.
William Bailey added a fifth place finish in the men’s javelin throw after posting a distance of 46.30 meters, while Ben Maxwell placed fifth in the men’s triple jump with a jump of 13.04 meters.
Ciraulo also added a ninth place finish in the women’s 200 meter dash with a time of 26.77. Freshman thrower Hayleigh Wilson placed fourth in the women’s shot put with a toss of 10.33 meters.
