ITHACA, N.Y. -- The baseball team (10-10) evened its record on the year with a 3-0 win over visiting Cazenovia (3-14) in non-league action Tuesday. Two Bomber pitchers combined for the three-hit shutout.

Sophomore Jasper Adams (Amherst Regional/Amherst, Mass.) made his first start of the season and gave up just two hits and a walk over six innings. He held the Wildcats hitless over the first four innings and didn't allow a runner past second base. He struck out three in earning his first win of 2011. Sophomore Pat Lemmo (Westhill/Syracuse) picked up his first career save, blanking Cazenovia on one hit over the final three innings. He didn't walk a batter and faced just two batters over the minimum.

Third baseman David Ahonen (Victor/Farmington), a graduate student, broke open a scoreless tie with a lead-off home run in the bottom of the third. The home run was his team-leading fourth of the year and the 14th of his career (he's now 15th on Ithaca's all-time list). Ahonen singled, stole second and scored the Bombers' final run in the seventh inning. He recorded two of Ithaca's six stolen bases.

Junior left fielder Teagen Barresi (Lansing/Lansing) added a pair of hits, including an RBI single in the seventh. Senior center fielder Rob Zappia (Greece Athena/Rochester) singled home a run in the fourth. Senior first baseman Trevor Wolf (Lansing/Freeville) and sophomore catcher Corey Caswell (Broadalbin-Perth/Broadalbin) hit sacrifice flies.
