Nazareth tops Hartwick, 8-1

MENDON, N.Y. -- Host Nazareth remained unbeaten in Empire 8 Conference men's tennis action Sunday as the Golden Flyers defeated Hartwick, 8-1.

Nazareth has won its last four matches -- all in conference play -- to improve to 7-7 overall and 4-0 in the Empire 8. Hartwick is 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the E8.

At first singles, sophomore Ryan McCormick took a first-set tiebreaker from Hartwick's Jeff Boyd and won 7-6, 6-3. Sophomore Jeremy Mancus won at third singles and senior Adam Landry, freshman Erik Manske and junior Tom Wood also won in straight sets.

Nazareth also easily captured all three doubles matches with McCormick and Bret Beaver winning at #1, Landry and Mancus at #2 and Manske and Wood and #3.
