St. John Fisher College shot back-to-back rounds of 311 to pull away from the competition and win the Empire 8 Men's Golf Championship title at Woodstone Country Club in Danielsville, Pa. The title is the eighth for the Cardinals and sixth in the past seven years.
Tyler McArdell of the Cardinals shot the best rounds of the weekend, 76 in the third round and 75 in the final round, to earn medalist and Empire 8 Player of the Year honors. He finished five strokes ahead of teammate Chris Clapper and Jamie Bresnahan of the University of Scranton.
