Ithaca Men’s T&F Team Claims Fifth Consecutive Empire 8 Outdoor Title
Rochester, N.Y.--The Ithaca men’s track & field team tallied 230 points to outscore second-place host Rochester Institute of Technology by 82 points and claim its fifth consecutive Empire 8 Outdoor Championship Crown on Sunday. The Bombers have won seven of the last eight championships. Ithaca will next compete on Saturday, April 23 at the Cornell Upstate Challenge.
Senior Kyle Devins (Ausable Valley/Peru) was named Field Athlete of the Meet after winning the long and triple jumps. He reset his own Empire 8 records in both evens and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the long jump with a leap of 7.11 meters. Devins was victorious in the triple with a mark of 13.60 meters.
