Ithaca Women's Track & Field Team Moves Up Two Spots, Ranks 13th Nationally

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca women’s track & field team improved its top-25 ranking to 13th in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s week 3 poll announced Tuesday. The Bombers have 11 individual results ranking in the national top-20 and an additional three in the top-30. Ithaca last ranked 15th in the week 2 standings.

Four-time indoor All-American, junior Emma Dewart (Barker/Barker) ranks fourth in the high jump with a 1.68 meter (5’ 6’’) clear, sixth in the 100-meter hurdles clocking a time of 14.66 at Moravian’s Coach P Invitational, 12th in the long jump with a leap of 5.55 meters (18’ 2.5’’) and 15th in the triple with a mark of 11.35 meters (37’ 3’’).

Senior Marcia McCord (Rancocas Valley/Mount Holly, N.J.) ranks in a trio of events sitting seventh in the 400 dash, 12th in the 200 dash and 20th in the triple jump. A four-time outdoor All-American, McCord has recorded season-best times of 57.04 in the 400 and 25.07 in the 200, with a season-best triple distance of 11.15 meters (36’ 7’’).

Senior Kate Leugers (Rice Memorial/Richmond, Vt.) sits 15th in the 10,000 run having crossed the finish line of the race in 37:14.19 at the Hamilton Continental Invitational, while also ranking 10th in the 1,500 with a 4:37.66 finish clocked at Bucknell’s Bison Outdoor Classic on April 15.

Junior Ashley Dlubac (Merrimack Valley/Loudon, N.H.) moved into 13th place with a 41.19-meter (135’ 1’’) javelin toss at the Empire 8 Outdoor Championships, while junior Heidi Baumbach (Lake Placid/Lake Placid) ran an 11:08.60 steeplechase at Bucknell to rank 16th in the event.
