Ithaca Moves Up Again, Ranks 12th Nationally

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca women’s track & field team improved its top-25 ranking to 12th in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s week 4 poll announced Tuesday. The Bombers have 11 individual results ranking in the national top-20 and an additional three in the top-30. Ithaca last ranked 13th in the week 3 standings.

Four-time indoor All-American, junior Emma Dewart (Barker/Barker) ranks fourth in the high jump with a 1.68 meter (5’ 6’’) clear, ninth in the 100-meter hurdles clocking a time of 14.66 at Moravian’s Coach P Invitational, 13th in the long jump with a leap of 5.55 meters (18’ 2.5’’) and 18th in the triple with a mark of 11.35 meters (37’ 3’’).

Senior Marcia McCord (Rancocas Valley/Mount Holly, N.J.) ranks in a pair of events sitting sixth in both the 200 and 400 dashes. A four-time outdoor All-American, McCord has recorded season-best times of 24.75 in the 200 and 56.36 in the 400.

Senior Kate Leugers (Rice Memorial/Richmond, Vt.) sits 15th in both the 10,000 and 1,500 runs. She crossed the finish line of the 10K in 37:14.19 at the Hamilton Continental Invitational and finished the 1,500 in 4:37.66 at Bucknell’s Bison Outdoor Classic on April 15.

Junior Ashley Dlubac (Merrimack Valley/Loudon, N.H.) moved into 14th place with a 41.19-meter (135’ 1’’) javelin toss at the Empire 8 Outdoor Championships, while junior Heidi Baumbach (Lake Placid/Lake Placid) ran an 11:08.84 steeplechase at Bucknell to rank 17th in the event.

Sophomore Amanda Rissmeyer (Watchung/Millington, N.J.) cleared 1.65 meters (5’ 5’’) in the high jump to rank 11th in the nation.
