St. John Fisher Keeps Rolling With Two Wins At Oswego
The St. John Fisher College softball team combined to score 25 runs in its doubleheader at SUNY Oswego and won both games against the Lakers on Wednesday afternoon. With the two wins, Fisher improves to 14-4 overall and will host SUNY Brockport at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
Game One – Fisher 7, Oswego 1
Fisher, who finished the game with 15 hits, led 2-0 going into the seventh, but tacked on five runs in its final at-bat to secure the win. Danielle Leone picked up the win, allowing six hits, while striking out five. Krista Robarge led Fisher, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, including a two-run homer in the seventh. Carissa Carlson went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Leanne Merchant hit a solo home run. Kayla Goodberlet, Shelby Marie and Jennifer Vanek each finished with two hits.
Game Two – Fisher 18, Oswego 0 (5 innings)
Fisher scored five runs in both the third and fourth innings, and put the game away with an 8-spot in the fifth. Four different players homered for Fisher, including Robarge and Merchant for the second time on the day. Megan Zoerb and Carlson also smacked home runs. Carlson and Merchant each hit three-run homers and finished with four RBI in the game. Zoerb went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBI. Alicia Vann, Michelle Townsend, Jennifer Martin and Sarah Fordyce each singled and scored a run. Jamie Harmon finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Sarah Stefanon recorded the win. The sophomore pitcher allowed three hits and fanned five over five innings.
