Record-Setting Day For Ithaca Women's Golf Team at St. Lawrence
Canton, N.Y. - The Ithaca women's golf team posted a school-record score of 341 to stand in third place in a field of nine teams at the St. Lawrence Invitational. The par-72 St. Lawrence University Golf Course played to 5,809 yards.
Freshman Sharon Li (Hong Kong International/Happy Valley, Hong Kong) posted the best tournament round ever by an Ithaca varsity golfer with a score of 80. That included a 39 on the front nine. Freshman Kelsey Baker (Hopkinton/Hopkinton, Mass.) was Ithaca's second-leading scorer with an 84.
Middlebury leads the team scoring with a total of 337, followed by host school St. Lawrence at 340. Ithaca is just four strokes out of the overall lead headed to Sunday's final round, which will begin at 8 a.m.
Several players from a number of teams were disqualified after it was discovered that they played one of the holes from the incorrect set of tee markers.
