Bombers Run to Victory to Open 2011 Season at Oswego Invitational
Oswego, N.Y. – The Ithaca women’s cross country team ran to a first-place finish out of 11 teams on Saturday at the Oswego Invitational 5,000-meter run. The Bombers placed six in the top 10.
Senior Heidi Baumbach (Lake Placid/Lake Placid) was the Bombers’ top finisher in second place with a time of 19:06.95, while freshman Alexa Rick (Elyria Catholic/Elyria, Ohio) followed in third and junior Carly Graham (West Genesee/Syracuse) in fourth. Rick crossed the finish line in 19:32.30 in her first collegiate race and Graham clocked a 19:35.44 finish.
Senior Molly Quinn (C.W. Baker/Baldwinsville) tallied a 20:03.24 sixth-place finish, freshman Anastasia Diamond (Pennsbury/Yardley, Pa.) finished in 20:15.85 to place seventh and senior Molly Brown (North Penn/Landsdale, Pa.) placed eighth in 20:20.17. Junior Rachel Spirito (South Kingston/West Kingston, R.I.) rounded-out the Bombers’ top seven with a 12th-place 20:37.76 finish.
