St. John Fisher FIeld Hockey Earns Program's First Win

The St. John Fisher College field hockey team earned its first win in program history with a 3-1 win over host Susquehanna University on Sunday afternoon. With the win Fisher improves to 1-2 on the season.

Marissa Vedella scored the program's first goal in the sixth minute of play when she rebounded a ball off a Caitlin Allen shot and put it in the net. Susquehanna would knot the game at one in the 32nd minute, but Allen answered back with her own goal, assisted by Taylor Parker, to give the Cardinals a 2-1 lead.

Fisher would add an insurance goal in the 62nd minute when Parker and Allen reversed roles, with Allen supplying Parker with an assist for a goal.

In goal for the Cardinals was Kellie Redmond, who only allowed one goal and added 10 saves in her first career victory.
