St. John Fisher Men's Soccer Earns First Win of Season
The St. John Fisher College men's soccer team defeated visiting University of Scranton 1-0 to earn its first win of the 2011 season. With the win the Cardinals improved to 1-3 on the season.
Fisher scored in the 52nd minute when Austin Buckley sent a beautiful cross from the left side of the field which was deflected by Nick Calo to Matt Silvi for the goal. The Cardinals were able to hold off the Royals the rest of the game, although Scranton found the post and crossbar on separate occasions.
Keeper Kyle Metcalfe recorded three saves for Fisher in the victory.
