St. John Fisher Women's Tennis Remains Undefeated
The St. John Fisher College women’s tennis team defeated Utica College 9-0 on Sunday to improve to 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in Empire 8 Conference play.
The Cardinals swept all three doubles matches, dropping only two games combined.
Senior Elena Vahl won comfortably at first singles 6-4, 6-2. From two through six singles, Fisher dropped a combined five games while winning all its matches in straight sets.
Sania Zaki and Jennifer Lehner won at fifth and six singles to each record their first singles wins of the season with 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0 victories, respectively.
Kathryn Pasier and Jordan Brungard each won their singles matches 6-1, 6-0, while Marissa Rotondo won at third singles 6-1, 6-1.
The Cardinals return to action Saturday at 1 p.m. when they host Williams Smith College.
