Bombers Snag Ninth-Place Ranking in USTFCCCA Atlantic Region Poll
ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca women’s cross country team is ranked ninth in the Atlantic Region week 1 poll announced Tuesday by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The Bombers were ranked 10th in the USTFCCCA preseason poll.
The only Empire 8 institution receiving recognition, Ithaca ran to a first-place finish out of 11 teams on Saturday at the Oswego Invitational to open its season. The Bombers placed six in the top 10.
Senior Heidi Baumbach (Lake Placid/Lake Placid), the Empire 8 and NYSCTC Runner of the Week, was the Bombers' top finisher in second place with a time of 19:06.95 on the 5,000-meter course.
