The St. John Fisher College men’s soccer team defeated the Utica College Pioneers 1-0 on Homecoming Weekend Saturday at Growney Stadium. Fisher improves to 3-5 on the season and evens its record in conference play to 1-1. The Cardinals are on a two-game winning streak after defeating SUNY Potsdam 3-0 last Sunday.

Senior defender Tim Bach gave Fisher the only goal it would need against the Pioneers in the 36th minute. Bach joined a host of Cardinals at trying to collect a rebound in front of the net until the Rochester native finally settled the ball and put it past the keeper.

Kyle Metcalfe earned a shutout for the Cardinals, saving 13 shots on the afternoon in a game which Fisher was outshot 18-14.
