ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host Nazareth extended its winning streak to three matches in women's tennis Wednesday as the Golden Flyers defeated Elmira, 8-1, in Empire 8 Conference action.
Nazareth is 3-3 overall and 3-1 in conference matches. Elmira dropped to 3-3 and 2-3 in the E8.
Sophomore Alison Tepas improved her singles record to 7-2 with a straight-set win at second singles. She also teamed with junior Alex Vizgaitis for a win at first doubles, improving their doubles record to 6-2. Vizgaitis won at first singles to improve to 6-4.
Juniors Christine Cary and Cara Yinger also won singles matches along with freshman Lauren Losi. Cary and Yinger also claimed a point at second doubles, while freshman Krista Pagan and senior Jen Crane won at third doubles.
