St. John Fisher Women's Golf Led by Battle at Mount Holyoke Invitational

The St. John Fisher College women’s golf team competed in the second round of the Mount Holyoke Invitational on Sunday afternoon. Fisher improved its position by one spot from Saturday’s score, finishing with a team total of 735 and a 13th place finish.

The Cardinals shaved a whopping 17 strokes off of their Saturday team total, improving from a 376 to a 359 on Sunday. Fisher finished one place in front of the host Mount Holyoke College.
 
Alex Battle led the Cardinals with a total weekend score of 149, which was good enough to place her in second overall for the Invitational. Battle finished +1 on Sunday with a second round 73, eliminating 3 strokes from her Saturday score. The senior finished +5 on the weekend, just one stroke out of being the medalist.
 
Freshman Ceilia Fitzgerald shot 176 over the Invitational, shooting an 89 on Sunday which was good for second on the team and a tie for 42nd place.
 
Katie Joslyn cut her Sunday score down 11 strokes from Saturday, shooting a second round total of 88.
 
The women’s golf team will return to action on Sunday when it travels to Cortland for the two-day Cortland Tournament.
