Ithaca Women's Tennis Blasts Short-Handed Utica
ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca women's tennis team maintained its unbeaten record with another shutout victory in Empire 8 play, Wednesday's result was a 9-0 win over Utica at Glazer Arena inside of the Athletics & Events Center.
Utica had just five players in its lineup and forfeited matches at third doubles and sixth singles. The Bombers dropped just two games in the dual, and won a total of 10 sets without dropping a game.
Junior Hannah Worthley (South Burlington/South Burlington, Vt.) earned her second career win with a 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles, and the doubles team of freshman Emily Baker (Lincoln-Sudbury/Sudbury, Mass.) and freshman Kelly Fishback (Webster Schroeder/Penfield) made its varsity debut and posted an 8-0 win at second doubles.
