Golden Flyers improve to 11-7

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Senior Ashlee Travis had 11 kills and junior Aubrey Cooke added nine kills and 37 assists Tuesday as host Nazareth defeated Fredonia in four sets in a non-conference women's volleyball match. Scores were 28-26, 13-25, 25-18, 25-22.

With four wins in their last five matches, the Golden Flyers improved to 11-7 overall. It marked Nazareth's second win over Fredonia this season. The Blue Devils dropped to 10-8.

Nazareth used a balanced attack to pound out 49 kills overall for a .244 hitting percentage. Junior Amy Johnson had eight kills while freshmen Maria Allocco and Chelsea Beecher each had seven. Junior Brittany Crocetti excelled defensively with a match-high 16 digs.

Fredonia's Lindsey Olson had a match-high 15 kills and Jennifer Newhouse added 13 for the Blue Devils. Brittany Lis had 46 assists.
