Nazareth Wins Twice at Cortland

CORTLAND, N.Y. -- Nazareth's women's volleyball team opened its 2011 season with a pair of victories Friday at the Red Dragon Invitational at SUNY Cortland.
Nazareth opened its season with a three-set sweep of Baptist Bible. Scores were 25-18, 25-20, 25-15. The Golden Flyers then prevailed in Pool D by outlasting Vassar in five sets 25-21, 22-25, 25-22, 15-25, 16-14.
By finishing first in Pool D, Nazareth plays Pool A winner Cortland in the Championship Pool Saturday at 10 a.m.
Friday highlights included 52 assists against Vassar for junior setter Brittany Crocetti and 14 kills for junior outside hitter Aubrey Cooke.
