Lopsided Win For Ithaca At Hartwick

Oneonta, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College women's basketball team (11-2, 3-0 Empire 8) jumped out to a big lead and cruised to a 63-49 win over the Hartwick Hawks (9-3, 2-1 Empire 8) Friday.

Ithaca's win marked the sixth time in the past 10 games that the Bombers have held their opponent to 50 points or fewer.

Sophomore forward Jenn Escobido (Lisbon Free Academy/Norwich, Conn.) and junior center Devin Shea (St. Basil Academy/Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) both recorded double-doubles. Escobdo led the Bombers with 18 points, 13 rebounds and three steals, posting her fourth career double-double. She made nine of her 14 shots from the floor. Shea added 15 points and 10 rebounds

Sophomore guard Kathryn Campbell (Wall/Wall, N.J.) added 10 points and three assists. Sophomore guard Mary Kate Tierney (Our Lady of Mercy/Rochester) made her first collegiate start and recorded career-best totals of nine points, six rebounds and four assists. Senior guard Jessica Farley (Pine Valley Central/South Dayton) collected seven points, seven rebounds (one short of her career high) and four assists.

The Bombers held host Hartwick to eight points over the game's first 15 minutes, harassing the Hawks into missing 18 of their first 21 shots and opening up a 15-point lead. Ithaca pushed its advantage to 20 midway through the second half.

Ithaca's win marked the Bombers' 10th straight win over Hartwick. The Bombers are 45-16 all-time against the Hawks, winning 25 of the last 27 meetings.
