Big Rebounding Advantage Leads Ithaca Past Elmira

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College women's basketball team (13-3, 5-0 Empire 8) rolled to a 59-45 win over visiting Elmira (5-10, 2-3 Empire 8). The Bombers, who had a season-best +24 rebound margin (46 to 22), remain alone atop the Empire 8.

Junior center Devin Shea (St. Basil Academy/Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) led all scorers with 20 points, making nine of her 15 shots from the floor. She added six rebounds and three assists. Sophomore forward Jenn Escobido (Norwich Free Academy/Lisbon, Conn.) recorded her fifth career double-double, finishing with 10 points and a game-high 11rebounds.

Two other Bombers reached double digits in scoring: sophomore guard Kathryn Campbell (Wall/Wall, N.J.) recorded 11 points, four assists and four rebounds and senior guard Jess Farley (Pine Valley Central/South Dayton) contributed 10 points, six rebounds, six assists (one short of her career high) and three steals.

Sophomore guard Elisabeth Wentlent (Greene/Greene) made her first start of the season and collected four rebounds. Ithaca rebounded the Soaring Eagles 20-2 on the offensive end and took a 32-24 lead into intermission; eight of the Bombers' last 10 Division III opponents have been held under 25 first-half points
