Ithaca Women's Swimming & Diving Defeats Fredonia and Nazareth

Fredonia, N.Y. - The Ithaca women's swimming & diving team earned a pair of dual-meet victories in a tri-meet at Fredonia with Nazareth. The Bombers defeated the host Blue Devils 170-129 and defeated Nazareth by a score of 175-123.

Freshman Kylie Bangs (Westfield/Westfield, N.J.) was one of Ithaca's top performers in the meet by winning both the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events and placing second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:17.60). She finished the 100 back in 59.95 seconds and the 200 back in 2:11.65.

Sophomore Shelby Pascoe (Palisades Charter/Pacific Palisades, Calif.) swept the distance freestyle events by winning the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:00.83 and the 500 free in 5:25.01. Junior Carly Jones (Liverpool/Liverpool) won the 200 IM in 2:14.04 and was second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:09.16, out-touched in that event by just three one-hundredths of a second. Sophomore Elizabeth Gawrys (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:00.21 and was second in the 100 free in 55.45 seconds.

Sophomore Fiona Mancuso (Hershey/Hummelstown, Pa.) was Ithaca's other event-winner with a victorious time of 2:18.50 in the 200-yard butterfly. Freshman Megan Buisman (Penfield/Rochester) was second in both the 500 free (5:28.16) and 200 free (2:01.65).

On the diving boards, Ithaca's top finishers were sophomore Korie Fackler (Central Dauphin East/Harrisburg, Pa.) on the 1-meter board with a score of 230.40 and graduate student Katie Kaiser (Clarence/Clarence Center) on 3-meter with a score of 242.45.
