Cardinals Deliver Strong Finishes at St. Lawrence
The St. John Fisher College men’s and women’s track and field teams traveled to St. Lawrence University on Saturday to take part in the SLU Invitational. It was another strong showing for the first-year programs, as they had more solid finishes at the meet.
The Fisher 4x200 meter relay team of Nick Antonio, Billy Bonneau, Jerome Fleming and Brandon McCoy finished in fourth place, as did the women’s team of Morgan Mastin, Rachel Wolcott, Audrey Bowers and Nicoletta Lattuca.
Individually, Lattuca won the women’s long jump, leaping a distance of 4.93 meters.
Taylor Gallup finished in sixth place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:34.35.
Eric Riley had another strong finish in the high jump, placing third with a height of 1.88 meters. Riley also competed in the triple jump, finishing in fifth place after leaping a distance of 12.77 meters.
Garrett Boehmer, Fisher’s lone pole vaulter, finished in sixth place with a height of 3.65 meters.
Both teams will compete in the Empire 8 Championships next Saturday, which will take place in Ithaca, N.Y.
