Utica Men Take Home 6th at St. Lawrence Indoor Invite
Canton, NY (1-21-12) –The Utica College men’s track and field team posted a sixth place finish after totaling 34.66 points at the St. Lawrence University Invitational on Saturday.
Senior hurdler Joe Pruckno posted a time of 8.34 in the men’s 60 meter hurdle finals to take home second place and eight team points for the Pioneers. Freshman Andrew Hoover finished sixth place in the men’s 400 meter dash with a time of 53.59. Tyler Hayes and Noah Huff finished fifth and sixth in the men’s 5000 meter run with times of 16:44.24 and 16:46.49 to combine for three team points for the Pioneers.
Junior Derek Seminaro just missed out on scoring for UC after posting a seventh place finish in the men’s 800 meter run (2:04.92). Andrew Hoover, Praise Austin, Trevor Gibson and Chauncey Thompson put forth a solid effort in the men’s 4x400 meter relay, taking home second place overall, after clocking a time of 3:34.08.
Jumpers Jeff Shuder and Malcolm Strother each cleared 1.78 meters and tied for sixth place in men’s high jump.
