After a record-setting performance on Senior Night, Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball senior opposite hitter Maggie Kowalska earned her second consecutive Player of the Week award from the Empire 8 Conference. In a sweep of Hunter College on October 12, Kowalska broke the school's career kills record with 21 in the match to give her 1,573 for her career.

She took down a record that stood for five seasons at Stevens, topping Dawn Herring's '07 mark by one kill.

Kowalska reached this feat by tallying 20 kills in a five-set loss to New York University on October 10, and then backed that performance up with 21 against Hunter two days later. Over the two matches, she hit at an impressive .360 clip in 75 attempts with only 14 errors.

The Ducks take on NYU-Poly on October 17 in Brooklyn at 7 p.m. before playing in the final Empire 8 Crossover at Utica College on the 20th and 21st.

Freshman Carly Garone was named Empire 8 Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

Garone, who was named to the Ithaca Invitational All-Tournament Team over the weekend, set for 131 assists, 7.71 per set, over the course of five matches for the Bombers. Additionally, Garone amassed 12 kills, six aces, 24 digs and seven block assists for Ithaca.

The Bombers return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 16 hosting Oneonta for senior night at 6 p.m.
