Empire 8 Athlete-of-the-Week awards were handed out for the Week of Oct. 15-21. This week's honors were claimed by student-athletes from St. John Fisher, Salisbury University and Utica College.

Junior running back Cody Miller rushed for a career-high 208 yards and three touchdowns – both career highs – to lead nationally ranked St. John Fisher College to a 21-17 win over Ithaca College. On a fourth-and-one play, with Fisher trailing 17-14 with under five minutes left, Miller scored on a 36-yard run for the game's final touchdown. It was the first time a running back has rushed for over 200 yards in nearly seven years at Fisher.

Fisher will return to action at 12 p.m. next Saturday at Empire 8 affiliate member Frostburg State University (MD).

Junior defensive back Greg Stanton helped the No. 8 Sea Gulls to a 24-21 win over Alfred University on Saturday with a game- and career-high 12 tackles. A Damascus, Md., native, Stanton made his fourth interception of the season and sixth of his career in the third quarter.

Stanton also posted half a tackle for loss and two passes broken up on the day. Salisbury (6-1, 4-0 Empire 8) travels to Ithaca, N.Y., to take on Ithaca College on Saturday at noon.

Freshman kicker Thomas Woodburn went on to break his own school-record for points by a kicker in a single-game, which he originally set last week, as he totaled 12 points on the afternoon (three field goals, three extra points) in the Pioneers' win over Hartwick. He also tied the school-record for field goals made in a single-game with three. Woodburn knocked down field goals of 22, 22 and 30 yards.

The Pioneers return home on Saturday when they take on Alfred University at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium at 2 p.m.
