Louise Moores Tabbed Empire 8 Swimmer of the Week

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (October 23, 2012) – Junior
Louise Moores (Mukilteo, Wash.) of the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s swimming team was named the Empire 8 Swimmer of the Week. Moores was a key part of Stevens’ 164-87 win at Misericordia University Saturday afternoon.
Moores had a hand in two individual wins and two relay wins with all four times notching new Misericordia pool-records. Individually, she won the 50-free with a time of 24.39 and the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.07.
In the relays, she teamed with sophomore
Brittany Geyer (Brunswick, Ohio), sophomore
Sharon Rooker (Forest Grove, Ore.) and freshman
Jennifer Rutledge (Suwanee, Ga.) in winning the 200-yard medley (1:50.43). The team of Moores, sophomore
Nicole Miller (Peoria, Ill.), Rutledge and Rooker combined to turn in the top time in the 400-yard freestyle relay, touching the wall at 3:34.11.
Moores also set pool-records in winning the 50-free with a time of 24.39 and the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.07.
