Daza and Dix Named Men's Soccer Players of the Week
Senior Victor Daza of Stevens Institute of Technology and Michael Dix of Houghton College have been selected as the men’s soccer offensive and defensive players of the week.
Daza leading the Ducks to a 2-0 record, factoring in six of the team's 10 goals. Daza scored a hat trick on Wednesday to highlight his stellar week.
Against Wilkes University on Wednesday, Daza scored three goals and added an assist all in the first 33 minutes before the Ducks pulled their starters in the 7-2 victory. Then, in Empire 8 play on Saturday versus Utica College, Daza on the Ducks' first and third goals of the afternoon to run his weekly total to nine points.
Stevens will renew its rivalry with the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Wednesday night at the DeBaun Athletic Complex at 7:30 p.m.
Dix helped Houghton to a 2-0 week. The center back anchored the Highlander defense which allowed just seven shots on Tuesday in a 1-0 shutout win over Roberts Wesleyan. On Saturday, he set up three goals and scored another in a 7-4 conference victory over Nazareth. After assisting Houghton’s first goal of the day and dishing out another helper to tie the score at 3-3, Dix put the Highlanders in front for good with the team’s fourth tally. He closed out the day with an assist in the day’s final goal.

th against Penn State University- Behrend in Erie, Pennsylvania at 3pm.
