Stevens Institute of Technology senior guard Sheldon Jones and St. John Fisher freshman guard Chaz Lott were named the Empire 8 Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively.

Jones led the Ducks to a pair of wins and was the Comfort Inn Tip-Off Tournament MVP. The Queens, N.Y. native and his mates rolled to a win over tournament host Centenary College Friday night, jumping out to a 19-3 lead and cruising to an 88-62 victory. On Saturday, the Ducks turned in a dominating second-half performance to topple No. 20 William Paterson University, 71-55, for the tourney title.

Jones led Stevens in scoring, averaging 19.5 points. He added four rebounds per game and one assist. He shot a ridiculous 7-for-9 (77.8 percent) from three and 16-for-24 (66.7 percent) from the field.

In the win over Centenary, Jones had 16 points, and against William Paterson, he poured in a game-high 23, nailing three three-pointers, including a two back-breaking triples that gave the Ducks the lead for good eight minutes into the second half.

Stevens will return to action at Fairleigh Dickinson University – Florham Nov. 20  at 7 p.m.

In a 2-0 week for the Cardinals, Lott started in both games - the first contests of his collegiate career --with the task of running the offense.

Fisher participated in the Hilbert College Tip-Off Classic, with its first game against the SUNY Fredonia Blue Devils. Lott started at point guard, finishing with nine points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals while only turning the ball over three times.

Fisher faced host Hilbert College on Satrurday, with Lott hitting double digits in the points column for the first time in his career, finishing with 10. He also had five assists, two rebounds and two steals while going 2-for-2 from beyond the arc and 4-for-5 from the field. The freshman again played 27 minutes in the game, as Fisher beat Hilbert 65-48 to win the three-team tournament.

Lott and the Cardinals will return to action after the Thanksgiving break when they partake in the 47th Annual Wendy's College Classic. Fisher will host either College at Brockport or SUNY Geneseo at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28.
