CENTERVILLE, Mass. (November 7, 2012) – The Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team earned a bid to the 2012 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Mid-Atlantic Championship. The Ducks will take on Swarthmore College in the quarterfinals on Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
Stevens (13-7) earned the third seed in the tournament but the contest will be played at Swarthmore due to a variety of unfavorable circumstances in Hoboken, N.J. and at Stevens. The Garnet is the sixth seed and has an overall record of 9-8.
Seeding:
No. 1 Wesley College
No. 2 Lebanon Valley College
No. 3 Stevens Institute of Technology

No. 5 McDaniel College

The four winners of Wednesday’s quarterfinals will meet Saturday at Wesley College for the semifinals. If victorious, Stevens will play the winner of the Lebanon Valley/Drew at 2 p.m. Sunday’s final is slated for 12 p.m.
Last season, the Ducks reached the semifinals of this same tournament after defeating this year’s top seed Wesley behind a last-second goal from now-senior
