Men’s Basketball Player – St. John Fisher
Optimystik Kinard, Sophomore, Forward – South Ozark Park, NY/Christ the King
Sophomore Optimystik Kinard scored a career-high 32 points (16 in each half) on 11-of-14 shooting from the floor, including a career-best six 3-pointers as the Cardinals posted a 106-57 win over visiting University of Pittsburgh-Bradford. Kinard’s 32 points was the most points scored by a Fisher player since January 8, 2011 – a span of 46 games. As a team, Fisher tied the single-game record with 17 three-pointers. Kinard also had three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 24 minutes of action.
Men’s Basketball Rookie – Elmira
John Mullane, Forward – Norfolk, MA/King Phillip Regional
In just 16 minutes of action, John Mullane grabbed five rebounds, dished out two assists and scored five points in Elmira’s lone game of the week. Mullane shot 50 percent from the field and made his only three-point attempt.
Women’s Basketball Player – Utica College
Meghan Fiore, Senior, Forward – Epping, NH/Epping
Meghan Fiore recorded her fourth straight double-double Tuesday night in a non-conference game at Union. The senior forward scored a game-high 18 points and added 11 rebounds to lead the Pioneers as she shot 53.8% from the floor on the afternoon.
Women’s Basketball Rookie – Utica College
Mary Miceli, Guard – New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle
Mary Miceli netted 12 points, grabbed five rebounds and added two steals as the Pioneers lost to host Union College, 47-44, on Tuesday night. She netted a team-best three 3-pointers in 36 minutes of action.
