Women's Soccer has 10 Players Earn All-Region

Complete List of NSCAA All-East Regions Teams

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) released its list of Div. III All-Region selections and the Empire 8 had ten women’s players selected to the All-East Team.
 
The Empire 8 made up half of the first team with six selections. Three players garnered second team honors and one player was tabbed third team.
 
E8 Offensive Player of the Year, Ithaca senior Rachel Palladino, and Defensive Player of the Year, Nazareth senior Amanda Sudore, were both selected to the first team. Becca Salant, Megan Palladino, Amanda Callanan and Julie Winn join the duo with first team honors.
 
R. Palladino led the Bombers with 36 points on a team-leading 16 goals and four assists. She started 20 of the 21 games she played and is a three time All-Region honoree.
 
2012 marks the third season in a row that Sudore has been named to the all-region team. She started all 20 games and led the Golden Flyers' to a record of 9-5-6. Sudore spearheaded a stingy defensive group that produced a 0.84 goals-against average with eight shutouts.
 
A back, M. Palladino anchored the Bomber defense that ranked seventh nationally with a .696 shutout percentage. Starting all 23 games for the Blue & Gold, she dished out two assists during the season.
 
With a Bomber-best 12 assists this season, Winn set the assists school record with 29 career assists. She scored four goals to rank third on the team with 20 points.
 
Salant ranked fourth in the nation with a save percentage of .914 and seventh with a goals-against average of .37. She had 11 complete shutouts to her name in 2012.
 
Callanan was named the MVP of the Empire 8 Championship Tournament after helping the Bombers earn the league's AQ to the NCAA Tournament. Callanan collected 16 points this season on seven goals and two assists.
 
Houghton defender Alyssa Figueroa, Ithaca back Anna Gray and Stevens Institute of Technology midfielder Bridgette Barden were selected to the second team.
 
Figueroa started in all 21 games she played totaling 9 points on two goals and five assists. In Houghton’s first year with the E8, Figueroa earned first-team all conference and helped the team to six wins over league opponents.
 
Gray started 22 of the Bombers' 23 games this season, and totaled seven points on two goals and a trio of assists.
 
This is the third All-East Region honor for Barden. She started and played in 17 matches in the 10-6-2 season for the Ducks which ended in penalty kicks to Nazareth College in the semifinals of the Empire 8 Conference, Barden tallied six points on three goals. Her three scores tied for fifth on the team and she also picked up one game-winner.
 
Alexandra Rohloff repeats as an NSCAA third team selection. She led the Cardinals in points (22) and goals (9) while also adding three assists on the year. The junior was named the ECAC Upstate Tournament Most Outstanding Player after the Cardinals defeated Brockport 3-2.
