Complete All-East Region Teams

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) released its list of Div. III All-Region selections and the Empire 8 had six men’s players selected to the All-East Team.

E8 Player of the Year, Stevens Institute of Technology senior forward Victor Daza headlined the list with a first team selection. Joining Daza on the first-team were teammates Zach Adler and Paul Killian.

Daza helped lead the Ducks to the No. 1 seed in the Empire 8 Tournament; culminating in the programs sixth-straight conference crown and 12th-straight NCAA appearance.  He led Stevens with a conference-high 31 points on 12 goals and seven assists. Daza registered at least one point in 12-of-20 games played.

Adler, a senior midfielder, scored eight goals and posted seven assists. He started all 19 games he played.

Killian, a junior goalkeeper, ranked second in the nation with a save percentage of .910 and third with a goals-against average of .33. He was named First-Team All-Empire 8 and was the Empire 8 Tournament’s Most Valuable Player after stopping two shots in the penalty shootout to give the Ducks the automatic qualifier.

The Ducks’ junior back Leonardo Casas was a third team selection along with Elmira sophomore Andre Germano and freshman Wendell ‘Tre’ Ming.

Casas appeared in 17 games, making 15 starts and tallied three assists. As a defensive unit the Ducks ranked third in the NCAA with a 0.40 goals-against average and ninth in shutout percentage (14 shutouts in 22 games).

Ming, the conference Rookie of the Year, stepped in and became a playmaker for the Soaring Eagles with a team-leading seven assists. Ming also notched four goals as he started all 20 games played.

Germano led the Soaring Eagles for the second consecutive season in scoring. He amassed 27 points in the form of 12 goals and three assists.
