Webster, N.Y. – The Ithaca men's swimming & diving team set school records in four events and extended its team lead to 147 points on the second day of the Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association and Empire 8 championship meet being held at the Webster Aquatic Center. The meet will continue Friday and Saturday.

Ithaca placed first in the finals of the 200-yard freestyle relay with an NCAA B cut and school and UNYSCSA record time of 1:22.81. The group of senior Antoine Connors, junior Jake Robbins, junior Chris Cadwell and sophomore Zack Kundel won that final, a second-and-a-half faster than their preliminary time of 1:24.35.

The Bombers also swam the fastest time in program history and won the 400-yard medley relay finals in 3:25.32, which met the NCAA B qualifying standard. Sophomore Connor White, junior Jake Lichter, sophomore Taylor Van Cott and Connors earned that title, and Ithaca has placed first in the finals of all three relays contested so far at the UNYSCSA/E8 meet.

Ithaca senior Jeff Rapp won the 400-yard individual medley in 4:03.51, which shattered his own Ithaca school record by more than three seconds and also met the NCAA B qualifying standard.

Van Cott set a school record in the 100-yard butterfly in 51.01 seconds in the preliminary heats, and went on to finish sixth in the event finals. White swam 51.02 in the finals, a career-best and the second-fastest in Ithaca history to place second in the event finals.

Three Bombers advanced to the championship final of the 200-yard freestyle – Cadwell placed fourth, sophomore John Carr was sixth and Connors was eighth.
