Ithaca Stands 25th In Latest Directors' Cup Standings
Cleveland, Ohio -- In the first set of winter standings for the Learfield Directors' Cup, Ithaca College stands 25th among the nation's 449 Division III schools. The standings incorprate all fall sports as well as three winter sports (men's indoor track & field, women's indoor track & field and wrestling). Ithaca's performance at next weekend's NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, as well as the points the Bombers earned in the NCAA Men's and Women's Basketball Championship Tournaments, will appear in the next set of standings published.
The standings for the Directors’ Cup (formerly known as the Sears Cup) are determined by a school’s finish in NCAA playoff competition in selected sports. Ithaca, who placed 19th in last year's standings, is one of nine schools to have placed in the top 30 in each of the award's first 16 years (along with Amherst, Calvin, Cortland, Emory, Middlebury, College of New Jersey, Williams and Wisconsin-La Crosse).
