INDIANAPOLIS, IN – For the third day in a row, members of the Hartwick men’s swimming team achieved honorable mention All-American status at the NCAA Championships held at the Indiana University Natatorium on Friday.
In the 100 breast, Michael Phillips (Austin, TX) finished in 11
th place to earn the honor for the first time in his career. He broke his own College record in the prelims in 56.76 and bested the time in the finals in 56.46.
Phillips would combine with teammates
Miles Blaney (New York, NY), Kenny Kleso (Milford, PA), and Brad Ranson (Pennington, NJ) for a 15th place finish in the 800 free relay for Hartwick’s second honorable mention All-American performance of the day. The team’s time was of 6:48.69.
The Hawks, who already have four honorable mention All-American finishes in the first three days, are currently in 28th place in the team standings with 20 points.
Competition wraps up tomorrow with the Hartwick men competing in four events. Kleso will swim in the 1650 free. Lydon Schultz (Mt. Pleasant, SC) will compete in the 100 free. Phillips will partake in the 200 breast. Schultz, Blaney, Ranson, and Phillips will all compete in the 400 free relay.
