Diver Martin Brown Claims First Career All-America Honor
Indianapolis, Ind. - Ithaca College men's diver Martin Brown placed 10th on the three-meter board to highlight the team's efforts on the first day of competition at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships Wednesday in Indianapolis. That finish earned
Brown all-America status for the first time in his career.
Brown, a junior who is making his first appearance at the national meet, scored 452.80 in the 11-dive championship format to finish 10th in the finals, which earns him all-America status. He totaled 447.00 for 11 dives in the preliminary session which qualified him for the finals.
Ithaca's 200-yard medley relay was also in action Wednesday and placed 19th in the preliminary heats with a time of 1:33.92 as the group of sophomore Connor White, junior Jake Robbins, senior Jeff Rapp and sophomore Zach Kundel made its debut at the NCAA meet.
Rapp also competed in the 200-yard individual medley and was 38th in the preliminary heats in 1:54.95.
Ithaca totaled 10 points on the day and is 28th in the team standings. Action continues Thursday at the Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis Natatorium.
