Ithaca Moves Up To 14th In Directors' Cup Standings

Cleveland, Ohio -- In the final set of winter standings for the Learfield Directors' Cup, Ithaca College stands 14th among the nation's 449 Division III schools; the Bombers had been 25th in the previosu standings. Ithaca is the highest ranking Empire 8 institution and fanks first among all schools in the state of New York.

The standings incorprate all fall sports and winter sports; the Bombers have earned points in men's basketball, women's basketball, women's soccer, men's swimming & diving, women's swimming & diving, women's indoor track & field and wrestling.

The standings for the Directors’ Cup (formerly known as the Sears Cup) are determined by a school’s finish in NCAA playoff competition in selected sports. Ithaca, who placed 19th in last year's standings, is one of nine schools to have placed in the top 30 in each of the award's first 16 years (along with Amherst, Calvin, Cortland, Emory, Middlebury, College of New Jersey, Williams and Wisconsin-La Crosse).
