Henderson Powers Fisher Past Geneseo

Senior Connor Henderson had a hand in all his team's goals, scoring four and assisting on three more, including the eventual game-winner with 20 seconds remaining, to give the visiting the St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team a 7-6 win over host SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday afternoon.

With the win, Fisher moves to 4-2 on the year.

Geneseo's Brendan Kurpis scored four times, including a goal with six seconds left, to lead Geneseo, who drops its third consecutive and fourth overall one-goal decision.

Fisher controlled the first half of play, as the Cardinals scored two goals in the first and two in the second before Kurpis made it 4-1 at intermission with 1:04 left in the half.

After senior Mitch Ritchie scored his second of the game at 7:27 of the third for a 5-1 lead, Geneseo rallied to make it 5-4 game.

Henderson scored a man-up goal at 13:53 to reclaim a two-goal lead for Fisher and Kurpis made it 6-5 with 10:29 to play before Henderson sealed the win late.

Fisher's Ryan Freije won 10 of 17 faceoffs, David Haseley scooped up six ground balls and Jamie Campagna made 11 saves to post the win.

Jeff Wester and Bryan Dyer each registered an assist, while Eric Klein scored a first-half goal.

Jimmy Burgasser caused two turnovers.
