Bombers Place Sixth at ECAC Indoor T&F Championships
New York, N.Y. – The 12th-ranked Ithaca women’s track & field team finished sixth for the second consecutive year at the ECAC Indoor Championships at the Armory on Saturday. The Bombers, who scored 40 points at the two-day event, have placed in the top 10 12 out of the last 15 years.
Senior thrower Jessica Hoeffner placed fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 17.03 meters, rewriting her own school record by a powerful 1.08 meters. The heave is the 12th best in the nation.
Senior Emma Dewart won the high jump with a clear of 1.69 meters, a height that ranks her tied for seventh nationally, and placed fourth in the long jump with a 5.39-meter performance.
Senior Heidi Baumbach placed third in the 3,000-meter run in 10:17.18, while junior Jenn Randall finished fourth in the mile run with a time of 4:58.51.
The Bombers’ 4x800 relay of Dewart, senior Becca Coffman and freshmen Harmony Graves and Leigh Martino teamed together to finish seventh in 9:39.98. The tandem of Coffman, Graves, Martino and junior Rachel Spirito placed sixth in the 4x400 relay clocking in at 3:58.58, just .30 seconds of Ithaca’s school record.
