Hoeffner Snaps School Record at Ithaca Invitational

ITHACA, N.Y. – The 10th-ranked Ithaca College women’s track & field team saw one school record get broken in addition to the 10 ECAC qualifiers it met on Saturday as the Bombers hosted the Ithaca Invitational. Ithaca posted 19 individual and two relay top-three performances.

Senior Jessica Hoeffner rewrote her own hammer school record with an ECAC-qualifying heave of 50.13 meters to place second. Senior Kate Middleton finished third with a 41.57-meter throw. Middleton also finished as the runner-up in the shot put with a mark of 12.00 meters to qualify for the ECAC meet.

The Bombers claimed the top three spots in the javelin as senior Ashley Dlubac won the event in an ECAC-qualifying distance of 37.82 meters. Junior Amanda Rissmeyer placed second and Hoeffner third with throws of 31.78 meters and 30.44 meters, respectively.

Sophomore Elaine Abdulky was third in the discus with a toss of 33.78 meters. 

Senior Julie Orlando finished fourth in the pole vault clearing 3.25 meters to hit the ECAC standard.

Rissmeyer placed third in the high jump with a 1.55-meter clear and freshman Christine Benway finished second in the triple jump with a 10.10-meter mark.

On the track, Ithaca hit ECAC marks in the 800-meter run, the 5,000 run, the 10,000 run and the 100 hurdles.

Two clocked ECAC-good times in the 10K as senior Molly Quinn won the event in 39:30.26 and freshman Anastasia Diamond followed in second in 40:25.93. Junior Megan Schenk was third in 41:25.83.

Junior Jenn Randall hit the qualifier in the 800 and senior Heidi Baumbach did so in the 5K. Randall finished the 800 in 2:17.95 to place second and Baumbach placed third in the 5,000 in 18:35.88.

Two notched ECAC times in the 100 hurdles as senior Emma Dewart won the event in 15.01 and junior Tammia Hubbard crossed the finish line in 15.90 to place third.

In the 400 hurdles, freshman Leigh Martino finished first in 1:06.81 and junior Ebonie Howard second in 1:07.58.

Junior Cassandra Clark was third in the 400 dash with a time of 1:06.80.

The Bombers won both relays on the day. They took the 4x100 in 52.26 and the 1,600 in 4:16.68.
