Senior Richard Scott of Alfred University was chosen as Track Athlete of the Meet and junior Sebastian Luna of Stevens Institute of Technology received Field Athlete of the Meet honors at the 2012 Empire 8 Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship held at Ithaca.
Scott swept the 200- and 400-meter dashes with times of 22.40 seconds and 49.29 seconds, respectively. He also ran on the Saxons’ winning 1,600-meter relay.
Luna took the conference title in the javelin throw in impressive fashion. His distance of 59.66 meters was more than 10 meters further than the second-place finisher.
