Empire 8 Announces Men's Lacrosse Awards

Rich Dupras of Stevens and Brendan Green of Ithaca Receive Top Honors

The Empire 8 announced its Men’s Lacrosse award winners with junior midfielder Rich Dupras of conference champion Stevens Institute of Technology being named Player of the year and senior Brendan Green of Ithaca being named Goalkeeper of the Year.

Dupras totaled 38 points on 18 goals and 20 assists in regular season conference play as the Ducks earned the top seed for the conference championship tournament. He scored twice and added three assists in Stevens’ 10-7 win over Ithaca in the title game.

Green posted a 6.25 goals against average in Empire 8 play with a 55.2 save percentage in regular season Empire 8 play. He made 14 saves in the championship game against Stevens.

Freshman face-off man Drew Simoneau of Nazareth College was chosen as the Empire 8 Rookie of the Year. He won 86 of 124 face-offs in conference regular season play, winning 64.2 percent.

 

Gene Peluso was named Empire 8 Coach of the Year for leading Stevens to its first conference title. He also won the honor in 2004 with RIT.
