Meyer Named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week
For the second straight week, a member of The University of Scranton men’s golf team has picked up a weekly honor from the Empire 8 Conference.
This time it’s sophomore Erik Meyer (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) who grabbed the spotlight.
Meyer was named the conference’s male golfer of the week today after shooting a career-low round and five-under-par 67 at the Scranton Municipal Golf Course in nearby Mt. Cobb, Pennsylvania, in leading the Royals to a 294-334 victory over Baptist Bible College on Wednesday, September 5. His previous career-low round was a 72 against King’s College and Wilkes University at Huntsville Golf Club in Lehman, Pennsylvania, on April 10.
The Royals will once again take on Baptist Bible College when they return to action tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at Stonehedge Golf Course.
This Saturday and Sunday, Scranton will take part in the opening 36 holes of the Empire 8 Conference championships to be held at Yahnandasis Golf Club in New Hartford, New York.
