Dobbins and Killian Tabbed Players of the Week
Freshman defender Joseph Dobbins of Ithaca and Stevens Institute of Technology Paul Killian of the men’s soccer team were named Empire 8 Conference Player and Goalie of the Week.
Dobbins was a part of Ithaca's defensive unit that led to tie at Rensselaer and a 1-0 win over 11th-ranked Muhlenberg. Dobbins scored the game-winning goal with a blast from 25 yards out near the left sideline that beat the goalkeeper and went in off the right post.
The Bombers next travel to St. John Fisher on Saturday, Sept. 15 to open Empire 8 play at 1 p.m.
Killian made 10 saves in two games and shut out Drew University 3-0 on Wednesday. The Maryland native gave up just one goal in two games and faced 19 shots in the Ducks’ 1-0 loss to New York University on Saturday. He made seven saves against the Violets and saw six shots against the Rangers.
Killian and the rest of the Ducks will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon when they will host The College of New Jersey at DeBaun Athletic Complex at 4 p.m.
